Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University was came into existence on 4th August, 1923. When the university started it has six affiliated colleges and 927 students which increased to about 9000. Arts and Social Science faculties were opened in 1958. Several science and other teaching Departments were started in 1963 and it was the the major expansion.

For admission candidate should have to pass PET test organise by Gangadhar Meher University. Candidates are exempted from PET who have qualified NET/SET/JRF examination and are eligible at the personal interview. Duration is two hours for entrance test. Candidate must have to score 50% marks in PET from qualify it.
