DMLT is a 2-year diploma course pursued after the successful completion of the 10+2 level of education. It is the fast growing fields across the globe in the Health Care area. The full name of the DMLT course is Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. It is a Medical Lab Technologist Diploma course. It generally deals with the study of laboratory investigations relating to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. With this course the basic aim is to provide knowledge and training to the candidates so that they can work in various lab settings. 

Eligibility for Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology

Below are the minimum criteria which candidates interested in pursuing the course are required to fulfil, in order to be eligible to apply for the course.

  • Successful qualification of the 10+2 level of education from a recognized educational Board.
  • Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) as the main subjects of study at the 10+2 level.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates) at the 10+2 level.

DMLT Course Duration

  • 2 years ( 4 semesters) course after 12th
  • 1 year (2 semesters) course after Graduation (B. Sc.)

Admission to the DMLT programme is done on the basis of their performance in a relevant entrance test, and followed by a round of personal interview. A few institutes also provide direct admission based on the candidate’s performance at the 10+2 level.
